Introduction

NIBA College’s Continuing Professional Development program has been designed to develop members’ knowledge and skills so that they are able to;

  • offer clients up-to-date and effective advice,
  • run efficient and profitable businesses,
  • meet all regulatory requirements and standards.

CPD demonstrates to legislators, the media and the public that association members constantly up-date their professional qualifications and experience.The insurance & risk sector is one in which markets, products and regulatory environments are rapidly changing, and as such, all NIBA members are required to undertake a minimum amount of appropriate Continuing Professional Development every year.

NIBA College’s range of training programs is regularly updated and expanded to help practitioners maintain the currency of their knowledge and skills.Our programs are structured training courses available in a variety of formats including:

NIBA College CPD programs conform to ASIC quality training criteria. Programs can be used to meet annual training requirements for ASIC and NIBA membership. Any CPD points program participants earn from completing a NIBA College CPD activity is automatically added to their NIBA College training record which can be viewed at any time via NEO.

NIBA College runs regular seminars and also provides a comprehensive online training resources to assist practitioners with obtaining their CPD points.

NIBA College has an extensive national program of face-to-face seminars and workshops throughout the year that address a wide range of competency areas for representatives in all job roles. Topics and locations are regularly updated on the College website.

Conferences

The annual NIBA Convention, conducted over 5 days, is the insurance industry’s major event. It consists of an extensive program of Australian and international expert speakers as well as workshops and an extensive exhibition. It is held in October each year and details are posted on the main NIBA website. Many of the sessions are CPD accredited.

CPD Online Programs

You can learn at your own pace and develop your broking skills using NIBA College’s CPD Online Programs. Self-study programs are suitable for individual study and some of the most popular are available for group training. Self-study programs vary in length depending on the topic. Programs can be completed at any time, on or off the job. Each program includes an assessment activity to ensure it complies with ASIC requirements for verifiable professional development training. Those who do not complete the assessment activity can still count the module towards unstructured CPD hours.
