This qualification is designed for new employees working in a general insurance section of a large organisation or an insurance broking or other advice business and performing duties such as:
• responding to customer enquiries including providing general advice in general insurance advice at the ASIC Tier 2 level; • providing customer sales and service support; and • clerical duties such as maintaining financial records.
This course consists of six modules:
MODULE 1 ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE FOR GENERAL INSURANCE PERSONNEL Covers background knowledge for those working in a variety of roles in general insurance organisations including an overview of the industry, risk insurance products and related legislation.
MODULE 2 GENERAL INSURANCE ADVICE SKILLS Participants have a choice of attaining full Tier 2 general insurance accreditation or general advice and customer service skills:
• MODULE 2A TIER 2 GENERAL INSURANCE ADVICE Covers essential product knowledge and the skills to deal with a range of customer enquiries including preparing and delivering Tier 2 general insurance advice; OR
• MODULE 2B GENERAL ADVICE SKILLS Covers the skills to respond to customer enquiries including the telephone based customer service techniques required to provide general insurance solutions.
MODULE 3 CLIENT SERVICE SKILLS Covers handling customer complaints and undertaking effective negotiations with clients and insurance providers. MODULE 4 EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION AND TEAMWORK Covers effective communications skills and working effectively with others.
MODULE 5 FINANCIAL RECORDS Covers preparing , matching and processing receipts and processing payment documentation within the office.
MODULE 6 BUSINESS SKILLS FOR INSURANCE PERSONNEL Covers the skills needed to work effectively within an insurance business including working to industry and organisational guidelines, working safely in the office, using technology effectively and maintaining workplace information.
