SPA is suited to all broker practitioners who have been working in the industry for some time and seek to have their skills and knowledge recognised through the award of the Diploma of Insurance Broking. NIBA College is an industry leader in this area. As an SPA candidate you work closely with your NIBA College assessor who will provide detailed guidance on how to prepare and present evidence of your competency in your chosen field.
Not only do you gain formal recognition of your capabilities but many find that SPA is an excellent professional development program for practitioners.
The following diploma skills are assessed through SPA 1
• Tier 1 general and/or life insurance advisor skills and product knowledge; and
• Higher level broking skills including:
- identifying risk within a client's broking portfolio

monitoring a client's broking portfolio including monitoring complex domestic and business risk portfolios

negotiating and resolving disputes
-
negotiating with insurers on behalf of their clients in an insurance claim

prepare new business proposals for insurance broking clients

reviewing and reporting losses
