This course consists of six modules:

MODULE 1 ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE FOR GENERAL INSURANCE PERSONNEL
Covers background knowledge for those working in a variety of roles in general insurance organisations including an overview of the industry, risk insurance products and related legislation.

MODULES 2 GENERAL INSURANCE ADMINISTATION SKILLS
Participants have a choice of two areas of general insurance administration:

• MODULE 2A GENERAL INSURANCE CLAIMS HANDLING
Covers the skills to effectively handle all stages of a general insurance claim as well as the basics of claims analysis and settlement and how to participate in claims negotiations relevant to their role; OR

• MODULE  2B GENERAL INSURANCE POLICY PROCESSING
Covers the skills required to evaluate a general insurance risk for renewal business, deal with policy alterations, issue a contract of insurance or a renewal advice and handle a cancellation advice.  

MODULE 3 GENERAL INSURANCE ADVICE SKILLS
Participants have a choice of attaining full Tier 2 general insurance accreditation or general advice and customer service skills:

• MODULE 3A TIER 2 GENERAL INSURANCE ADVICE
Covers essential product knowledge and the skills to deal with a range of customer enquiries including preparing and delivering Tier 2 general insurance advice; OR

• MODULE 3B GENERAL ADVICE SKILLS
Covers the skills to respond to customer enquiries including the telephone based customer service techniques required to provide general insurance solutions. 

MODULE 4 CLIENT SERVICE SKILLS
Covers handling customer complaints and undertaking effective negotiations with clients and insurance providers.
 
MODULE 5 EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION AND TEAMWORK
Covers effective communications skills and working effectively with others. 

MODULE 6 BUSINESS SKILLS FOR INSURANCE PERSONNEL
Covers the skills needed to work effectively within an insurance business including working to industry and organisational guidelines, working safely in the office, using technology effectively and maintaining workplace information.
