This one module short course covers the advisory and customer service skills components of the Certificate III in Financial Services for representatives with previous office skills experience who are moving into an insurance advisory role.

It satisfies the Tier 2 training requirements for advisors in general insurance and is suited to representatives in insurance companies, underwriting agencies, banks and financial planners who wish to gain accreditation in general insurance. It is also suitable for financial planners who wish to gain accreditation in general insurance or as a pathway for those a pathway for those intending to complete Tier 1 life insurance adviser qualifications.

This course covers essential product knowledge and skills for dealing with a range of customer enquiries in the general insurance area. Candidates learn how to establish a relationship with a client, prepare and deliver advice, handle customer complaints and negotiate with clients and product providers.

Activities and assignments in this course use examples from retail general insurance products such as travel, car, home and contents and consumer credit. You will need access to clients with these types of products to enrol in this course.
