Course ContentRisk Management Major Unit This course covers the provision of risk management services to clients from risk identification and assessment through to ongoing management of risk exposure strategies. The unit also covers understanding organisational risk management systems and examining the broker’s role in contributing to a risk management culture within client organisations. This elective is based on the Australian and New Zealand Standard on Risk Management AS/NZS 4360 (2004).
Broker Managed Schemes Major Unit This course is suitable for those in brokerages or underwriting agencies who wish to develop their product development and management capability. It focuses on managing all aspects of development and implementation of an insurance broking facility or scheme including portfolio and claims performance review and management, developing and marketing a broking facility or scheme; and implementing the required support systems.
Compliance Management Major Unit This course covers those areas involved in the management of compliance and operations risks including managing disclosure obligations and developing and implementing compliance systems. The unit also explores the compliance manager’s role, understanding compliance cultures in risk insurance organisations, and managing organisational compliance and capacity issues
Business Management Major Unit This course focuses on the developing your skills in managing key resources related to broking schemes particularly those related to marketing, staffing, administration and information support. You learn to develop and implement business guidelines and manage for business growth. It addresses a number of contemporary issues and developments in broking and insurance services.
Most candidates will have undertaken the unit Apply principles of professional practice to work in the financial services industry FNSICIND401A through previous Diploma or Certificate IV studies with NIBA College or another provider. Candidates who have not completed this previously will need to complete this subject within the Graduate Diploma at an additional cost of $125.
