As well as being a regulatory requirement for brokers and insurance advisors and managers, CPD keeps you up-todate with industry trends and issues. It is the best way for you to build on your qualification to gain the knowledge and the skills to succeed in your insurance career and gain a competitive advantage.

CPD Register

NIBA College recognises that there is a wealth of training available in the marketplace - in order to assist our members in selecting quality training programs NIBA College offers training providers the opportunity to have thier programs accredited by NIBA College so that particpants can be awarded appropriate CPD points upon completion.

To apply for CPD points for your training program, simply complete the online application form. We will come back to you in 7 days with a request for further details or confirmation of your sucessful accreditation. Programs can be public or in-house only.

NIBA Members are encouraged to have in-house training programs accredited - for members this service is absolutely free!

CPIB Program

The CPIB program was developed in conjuction with Industry to provide a relevant training option for those staff who are looking to develop their professional broking skills.

The highly practical program allows you to identify areas for personal skill development and carry out projects within your place.

The program consists of 8 modules and will fulfil the majority of your annual CPD requirement.

CPD eLearning Programs

The programs available on CPD eLearning can be completed at your own pace anywhere you have access to a computer. Programs contain course notes, a variety of multi-media, case studies and downloadable documents depending on the course. Individuals can stop the program at any time and continue later at the place they last left off or go back and revise previous material. Assessment activities are completed online via a multiple choice test to verify participation and gain CPD points.

For users wanting full access to the NIBA College suite of programs.

Advisers can subscribe to a one year eLearning package deal. This allows access to up 25 hours of eLearning within each calendar year. Members recieve a heavily discounted subscription fee to ensure training is easily accessible.

Industry Leadership & Research Activities

NIBA College recongises that there are a large number of activities that contribute to professional development. In order to allow us to recognise these activities and allocate CPD points appropriately members must submit a learning review which outlines key objectives, learning outcomes and how you have implemented these into your role.

Maximum hours you can claim per year in this category - Each activity has a maximum claimable allowance of 3 points per year.

Industry Leadership activities - these are activities you do to educate the wider industry and include:

  • Writing articles, papers or presentations;
  • Technical committee work;
  • Teaching or student or workplace mentoring.

  • Structured individual research relating to the theory/practice of broking or insurance;
  • Structured study tour;
  • A structured internship;
  • An action research project conducted individually or with a group
