If you have some prior experience in insurance direct entry to a Tier 1 course is often the best option.

ASIC Tier 1 Requirements
Where a Tier 2 product such as general insurance is not standard the adviser may need to be trained to Tier 1 level. Advisers in Life insurance products must attain Tier 1 competency.

Tier 1 General Insurance short course

If you have some prior experience in insurance direct entry to a Tier 1 course is often the best option.  The course covers the core Tier 1 Insurance skills and retail product knowledge.

Senior Professional Assessment

If you've completed your Diploma of Financial Services and have 4 years experience - you are now eligible to apply for QFSR Membership. Sign up to recieve your complimentary copy of the Insurance & Risk Professional Magazine and whole range of other NIBA services.

Enrolment

You can enrol in Diploma courses at any time - your enrolment is valid for 12 months and you are required to complete all the assessment requirements within this time. Click here to view course fees.

Once you have decided on the program you wish to undertake, complete the enrolment form online or download the manual form and send it to NIBA College. If you have any questions regarding your enrolment or which course or assessment is right for you, please contact us on qualifications@nibacollege.com.au.

Once you are enrolled you will be sent a confirmation email with a link to your program learning materials and other important information. If you do not receive either of these emails it is important that you contact us as soon as possible.

Before enroling in any course or assessment theres a few things to think about:

  • Your eligibility to enrol in a particular program - see the course description for pre-requisites.
  • Courses are very practical and work related - and you will need to nominate a workplace supervisor.
  • Read the terms of study - you will be bound by these rules so make sure you understand them. If you would like to talk to someone about the terms of study prior to enrolment just give us a call.
  • You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning - provide a certified copy of your Statement of Attainment or equivalent documentation on enrolment.

Studying at NIBA College

You may have a choice between a short course and a full qualification which you can achieve by doing formal coursework or a workplace assessment.
