CPIB Program

CPIB Program Recognition Pathway Program Content Learning Approach

The CPIB program is a flexible program that has been designed with the diversity of experienced insurance brokers in mind.

Member research has shown that convenience, cost and time factors are important to you when deciding whether to take part in the program. The National Education Committee has addressed each of these issues in designing the program:

  • The program is offered in modules that can be undertaken at a pace that fits into a busy lifestyle;
  • The course content can be specifically tailored to meet your individual learning requirements and professional interests. It will help you develop your professional expertise irrespective of the size and location of your brokerage, your role in the business or the types of clients you service or the products you deal in;
  • QPIBs with different levels of industry experience have the choice of doing the CPIB Course or the Recognition Program;
  • The modules each have a CPD rating of 8 points which means that participants can attain the majority of the required NIBA College CPD training requirements for the year in a cost effective and relevant manner by completing CPIB modules.
  • The program modules may also be taken individually for general interest or for CPD points.

Each learning module contains learning resources and activities to assist you in applying the professional practice standards to your work environment.

The CPIB program is designed as a workplace-based program aimed at helping you obtain wider experience and skills. The format provides a flexible approach and you are encouraged to accept greater responsibility for the planning and assessment of your own learning.

You work through the learning resources as an independent learner. Each module has a study plan and supporting readings, podcasts and transcripts, as well as the opportunity to focus on assessment projects specifically tailored to you and your business’ needs. While work is largely self-directed each module includes a detailed timetable for completion requirements. There are a range of templates and other information in the resource materials to assist you to plan a suitable schedule for the semester.
