CPIB Program

CPIB Program Recognition Pathway Program Content Learning Approach

A significant number of current QPIBs have many more years of broking experience than the minimum requirement for entry to the CPIB program.  To cater for this group, a recognition (assessment only) pathway has been developed.

NIBA College offers the opportunity for experienced brokers to have their current skills and knowledge in insurance broking assessed for the purposes of being awarded the CPIB designation.

Who is it for?

Admittance to the recognition pathway is open to brokers who:

  • Hold a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking) from NIBA College or another registered training provider;
  • be a practitioner member of NIBA College at the Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker (QPIB) level for a minimum of 2 years;
  • be a practicing broker working with clients or a broker managing those who deal with clients and
  • have more than 6 years broking experience

The Evidence Portfolio

This pathway is similar to the well known Senior Professional Assessment programs and allows experienced brokers to assess themselves against the professional standards.  Those that feel they are able to meet the criteria are invited to put together a recognition submission for entry into CPIB.

Your submission consists of evidence that supports your claim of having achieved the professional broking standards and is based on templates provided in a recognition kit.

The nature of the CPIB means that most of your evidence will be available from documentation you have in dealing with your clients and suppliers. Most of your evidence can be gathered from a number of sources:

  • Events or activities in your professional life that you can document
  • References from employers or copies of performance appraisals.
  • Copies of certificates, diplomas, statements of attendance or results from any relevant course you may have studies that addresses the professional broking standards
  • A detailed curriculum vitae
  • Documents that demonstrate application of the professional standards.

Cost

The cost of the recognition pathways is $2800.00
